The pierogis I had in poland were stuffed with peaches and plums. Bigos is pretty good too. I don't remember the name of it but it was a red saurkraut was really good too.
My buddys mom fed us a lot of stuff and I don't remember all of it, but those 2 things stood out.
Even though it's not orginially polish but kompot was fucking amazing too. his mom made a strawberry one.
Before I went the only real experience I had with eastern europe was through euro trip. It was not that way at all. I did go during the winter (christmas markets were afuckingmazing) and I saw the sun once in the 2 weeks I was there. And everything does look grey but it was an amazing time and I cannot wait to go back.
Was kinda funny my buddy and his wife when we would go out they had these heavy winter jackets on. Then there was me, I had a thermal shirt on, a t-shirt and a light jacket and was fine. They were freezing, and they lived there their entire life.
