I've said this elsewhere, but there are a small handful of things I would take a tax hike for:

Free trips to socialist countries for commies is one of them. This isn't a helicopter meme, I'm being serious. You call an 800 number, someone shows up in a limo, you surrender your passport (if you have one) and sign some paperwork renouncing your citizenship, and in return, we drive you to the airport and give you a one way ticket (first class, even! Give you a taste of what you'll never have again!) to the socialist utopia of your choice.

This would be expensive, but it would be the biggest investment in America's future I could imagine.
