Why would they worry? The police were ordered to stand down and the DA is in their pocket. They're probably looking for instructions on their next target.

These probably are professional looters shipped from elsewhere (why it's happening the next day instead of the same day). They probably have each city scouted already with a target list ahead of time.

They have a system down. They have a caravan of cars that goes from one store to another. A quick hit at each target and no interference from police.

This is a mistake we made as a society, that lethal force to protect property isn't allowed. The thugs are exploiting this loophole, coupled with the fact that police are ordered to stand down (and the DA won't prosecute them even if they are arrested).

"Don't use lethal force to protect property!" sounds reasonable, except when you have organized gangs exploiting the loophole, coupled with corrupt politicians. (That's also why this doesn't happen in Republican states.)
