The oldest method of getting people to examine flaws on their own terms and not yours is the Socratic method. Please learn it. Doesn’t always help but when you have the time and patience, you’ll walk people right away from convictions or long held beliefs that don’t stand up to rational thought and they’ll think they did it and you were just trying to understand.
