Where I live in Texas, Cruz isn't very popular. And I don't live in a "big city".
The number of votes cast in the 2018 senate race were nearly identical to the governor's race, but Abbott won by 13 points compared to Cruz' 2. We're talking a difference of 400k votes. Voter fraud alone did not make that difference.
Cornyn actually seems a safer bet because he's the more traditional Republican, which is both a blessing and a curse. Be nice if he was active like Cruz, but he's more likely to get elected because he's not, and I'd rather have an inactive R like Cornyn than someone like Francis O'Rourke or MJ Hanger or whatever her name is.
EDIT: LoL at the downvotes for speaking the uncomfortable truth. Did I accidentally wander back onto Reddit?
