It's a longer way to answer, but I think the contrast is useful. Also, readers may find the questions leading/speculative, but no more so than what you'd find Scarborough himself asking on his shit show. I haven't seen his show in years, but this is the kind of shtick he was known for. Read the following in his voice:
Say you're the United States Representative from Florida's 1st District in July of 2001. A young (20s) staffer of yours is found dead early one morning in one of your offices from blunt force trauma to her head, death likely happening overnight.
Blunt force trauma to the head. Do you call for an investigation? Or do you say: “My staff and family are greatly saddened by the loss of Lori Klausutis. I know Lori will be missed by the thousands of citizens who regularly contact my office to seek assistance with a variety of problems. May God grant Lori’s family the grace, comfort, and hope that will get them through this difficult time,”
Do you instruct your press secretary Miguel Serrano to go to the press and talk about any good work Klausutis had done and to echo your call for an investigation, or do you instruct him to talk about her known prior "health conditions", even tho he is unable to specify any detail about what those supposedly known prior health issues may have been? Even tho her family denies her having had any health conditions, especially none regarding her heart.
I'd call for an investigation. Something anything resembling an investigation. Blunt force trauma.
I'd like someone to ask Serrano what health issues he was referring to. I'd like someone to ask Joe what health issues Serrano was referring to.
Anyway, it's summer of 2001. Do you plan to run for reelection, hope to eventually become a senator/president? In September, the 911 terrorist attack happens, the country needs stable leadership - run again, or go back to legal work? Scarborough chose not to seek reelection that November and went back to legal work. Then later on to radio and tv.
Perhaps in the moment, people say what people say. But after Berkland made the news in 2012 for collecting body parts, and that he was fired from 2 states for lying on autopsy reports, and having a nationally televised show, why would he not call for a re-investigation? Why would MSNBC ban people who even mentioned Klausutis or Berkland? Does this seem like someone who wants the truth? Or a coverup?
During his time as a Republican US Representative from Florida, he scored highly on ratings by conservative groups. Of course people change over time (tho usually becoming more conservative), how often have you seen 30 something men from the South become the screeching libtard that Joe is now? Is this normal? Unusual? Extremely unusual? Could someone own him?
