I am 100% a Ron Paul fan, but I also don't think he could have won.

He is a total patriot, and his policy positions are excellent. But there is more than just good ideas and love of country needed to be President.

I went to a Ron Paul event in Las Vegas once (maybe sometime in early 2008, or so?). I was so excited to see him. He was in a large hall in a hotel, and everyone there was a fan. He gave a speech for about an hour, and it was so boring. So totally boring. He would get bogged down in details, just go on and on in a monotonous tone, and his energy (while high when on TV for short segments) when stretched over an hour speech was low energy. Plus... even though I do know he is super awesome in all ways, and a good human being, he didn't come across as super likable or inspirational.

So, if thats what I (a super fan) was thinking, then I doubt he could have inspired millions of regular citizens to vote for him.

Point being, we are lucky to have had him in the US Congress, and we are even luckier to have his based son in the Senate now. But I do not think Ron Paul could have won the Presidency.
