The state legislature doesn’t choose electors, they make (as in made by forcible law) how electors are chosen. Whoever is pushing they choose the electors is 100% wrong. In every state the secretary MUST select electors from the party that wins the popular vote of the state, which is how the legislature “appoints electors” . Maine and Nebraska are the only exception and they choose by popular vote of a district. They do not get a choice in choosing which electors to send UNLESS there is a failure in popular vote (which technically their isn’t).
If the state legislature sends opposing sides the house can refuse to certify the results and pelosi will take the seat as acting president, there is zero ability for the senate or scotus to stop that.
