The last statistic I heard was over 60% of businesses downtown have no plans to reopen and 40% across Multnomah county. Everything is going into Covid shutdown again even though people in Portland are anal retentive about following the mask guidelines.
Just waiting for the city to say that they’re using eminent domain laws to repurpose those vacant buildings as homeless shelters, free clinics, city/state drug treatment facilities, covid testing facilities, and city (pre)schools (for lower density educational environments of course, not indoctrination and radicalization).
