But sometimes the rear sight on a pistol gets banged up, or a new one is installed without a bore sight, and you have to play spot the dust cloud.
Not that it's happened to me personally of course, but I watched my dad struggle to sight in his very pricy new 45 with match sights. I chuckled for a bit and then helped him sight it in.
Now he has a very heavy and oversized hands free pistol rest for sighting his pistols, and I'm no longer needed.
