He had nothing to do with uncovering the spy ring where the Soviets got America's atomic bomb secrets that led to the Rosenburgs being executed. Declassified documents show the Soviets had already infiltrated certain government agencies before McCarthy ever got elected. He drank himself to death after he was censured by the Senate. He COULD have been remebered fighting the good fight during the Cold War. He COULD have been remembered as a patriot. But he will only be remembered as a bully, a destroyer of lives for anyone who challenged him. But most importantly he should be remebered for how power corrupts.
