One of things I appreciate with John Solomon, he seems to care about finding the objective truth, even if he is labeled a “conspiracy theorist.” Be it in Ukraine, Hunter in China, or Chinese money in American universities, I appreciate his columns and have followed him with “Just the News” for a while.
One of the things you’ll find with folks here is we just want the facts, the cold, hard, facts. One of the greatest misconceptions the U.S. government has about the American populace is that we are unable to stomach complex political issues and the need for honesty around those complex issues. Americans crave transparency and honesty, but the American government, before President Trump, refused to provide us the objective truth without obfuscation through clandestine intelligence services or the MSM. We want honesty in our personal lives, so we expect it from our government and journalism. When we are lied to, it doesn’t make us docile, it pisses us off and forces us to lose faith in our alleged sacred institutions. Americans are searching for objective truth and honesty, but we are just not getting those from a biased troglodyte MSM and a government afraid of a civically minded populace.
I’ll close my little screed with this: “Network” has two of the best soliloquy’s about the transformation of media where Peter Finch delivers his “I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna’ take it anymore,” speech and Ned Beatty explaining to Howard Beale (Finch) why he must conform to the corporate narrative of the plutocrats. That entire movie is indicative of the American media in the Radio, Television, and Internet Era. Americans are desperate for columnists like John Solomon, Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibbi, Mollie Hemingway, and others that act like Americans are intelligent people that can digest complex issues despite their own political allegiances. American media has been transformed into a wasteland of gaslighting propaganda coupled with accusations of racism, Fascism, xenophobia, etc. for merely disagreeing with the Orwellian groupthink of the MSM narratives. Americans don’t want to be accused of something they are not, and the MSM ramming those pejoratives home makes us all angry. We are Patriots here and we only want objective truth from the Media and pragmatism from our government.
Great to have you on here, fren.
