Libertarians and government subsidies are the classic example. On the one hand you believe that any government subsidize are evil. On the other hand, if you live by your principles and reject all government subsidies, you are at a competitive disadvantage and will never get anywhere. It's not hypocritical to accept reality so that you can function in it while simultaneously arguing that the system is broken and should be fixed.
