I'd argue there is nothing wrong with socialism on the smaller scale of your family or church, where it all goes to complete shit is when you try to run entire countries on the concept. People can see those smaller benefits easily, but it just doesn't scale up and they fail to see that. Needs an inherent trust among all to work, which will never happen on the scales of entire countries
