When you believe there is an existential threat 24/7, you start to believe that even the normie Republican who just wants government to leave his family alone is 30 days away from goose stepping. It's also easy to convince yourself when you're constantly being reinforced into accepting leftist norms. You justify theft and misconduct by thinking, "Well at least I'm on the right side of history. I'm not hurting people like they would. In fact it's better I do this than someone less enlightened."
