Below is the post I want to write in some lefty space. I'm curious how they will react. Its 4D because if they disagree, they are saying I shouldn't vote for Biden. If they agree they are agreeing to basically the most fucked up "capitalistic" logic imaginable. At the very least they will be exposed to things they didn't know about Biden. Anyway I would love feedback and ideas on how/where to post this.
Here is the post:
Why as a 4 year long trump supporter I supported Biden this election.
I used to think Trump was interesting, that he was a rebel stirring up the political pot. But now I realize all his shortcomings over the years he was president and more importantly Biden’s positives. Firstly, everyone knows the corporate press hates Trump. Even Fox News hated him for awhile. A lot of people agree with the corporate press but I didn’t out of rebellion.
But I thought about it a bit more. Corporate press = people with a lot of money = people that must be very competent. If you managed to run a huge corporation for so long about news and made all that money and power, you must be pretty competent. So I now trust the opinion of these competent people. That’s also why I think its a good thing that Biden takes in a lot of campaign money from wall street and others. Even if you want to debate if these rich people are more “competent” than the average person, the fact that they like Biden is a sign Biden knows how to get other powerful people to like him, a good trait for a politician.
Now let me address the elephant in the room. Most of you already know that Biden was close friends with Robert Byrd and even gave his eulogy. But Byrd wasn’t the head of the KKK he was just “middle management” at the “exalted cyclops” level, mostly doing stuff like recruiting etc. And although Byrd actively opposed civil rights as senator, later in life Byrd quit the KKK. The fact that Biden can go from a KKK friend to someone who supports black people now shows a testament to his ability to grow and change as a person. Some people think this is why he passed all the “tough on crime” laws, his past affiliations with the KKK but, I think he really just was scared of crime, and he should be crime sucks! People also are mad Biden said “If you don’t vote for me you aren’t black”. But imagine being in his shoes. He spent years of his life possibly secretly hating black people, working under Obama and trying to help black people took more effort for him than the average person because of his past, so in many ways Biden worked much harder for black people than just what his record shows. People also complain he lied in his 1988 presidential run so much he was forced to drop out. But again it only shows how much he has grown over time. This is also probably why he is so aggressive about calling Trump a liar, he’s been there himself and knows how alluring lying and embellishing can be.
The other elephant in the room is all the stuff done by Biden and Obama’s administration. Destroying Libya, Chelsea Manning’s torture, mass deportation, Biden personally calling countries to yell at them not to harbor Snowden, Espionage act, whatever else. I used to think this was bad but honestly after seeing how aggressive China is this isn’t nearly as bad in comparison. In fact, I think its patriotic. Obama/Biden had to do the difficult task of maintaining the petro dollar (making sure no countries in the middle east sold oil in a currency that wasn’t USD) so that our USD would be worth more. So he’s helping us be richer even if its at the cost of other countries! That’s the attitude we need in a president.
There’s also the Hunter Biden laptop. I think the real lesson here is maybe the reason he passed the tough on crime laws is because his own son was doing drugs and crime and he knew first hand how terrible crime is. Also, even though he was involved this is how politics works. Putin himself said that what Biden did was normal and fine. Some countries you just have to play a little dirty with its how its done. It shows Biden’s ability to adapt to different cultures.
About the economy I was originally against lockdown. But it has only benefited me. I now work from home and its awesome. Its great that lockdown is pushing companies to work remotely. Sure many jobs may be lost because we realize we don’t really need them. But, I think that’s a good thing, get rid of the unnecessary jobs. At my own company for example, the CEOs used Covid as an excuse to let go a bunch of people. In reality the company didn’t even lose money from covid it was just that those people weren’t good but weren’t horrible so it was awkward to fire them until covid lockdowns presented the perfect excuse. So lockdowns and stuff like that is actually good for the economy in the long run I think. It will get all the mediocre to bad employees fired. It will get the mediocre or unnecessary businesses bankrupt as well. Do we really need local restaurants and shops everywhere when we have delivery services and can cook at home? Plus Biden was the guy who ran the bailouts back in Obama’s economy recovery. If an actually important big business is in trouble he knows how to convince congress to bail them out. Lastly, Biden is deeply connected with natural gas businesses so he knows how to balance energy company interests while seeming to be for green energy.
TLDR:
Anyway in conclusion I flipped to Biden for the recent election. He knows how to make the rich happy, he knows how to put America above other countries, the lockdowns help purge the economy so only the best people are left, and going from a friend of the KKK to a supporter of black people shows his character and ability to adapt.
