With corporate interests bending the knee to our supposed new overlords, I was wondering what I, gentle-pede, could do to show my support for those that have borne the slings and arrows thus far, in as disruptive, but not illegal/non-violent way possible.
I remembered back in the mid-90's, the logging industry in Oregon was similarly attacked by Target, of all people, for their daring to want to put food on their families table, and not taking into account the plight of the spotted owl, or some such similar nonsense... The loggers didn't take kindly to the attack on their livelihoods, and banded together to make their displeasure known. Their method was to arrange as many people/families to descend on a particular store at a pre-planned time as possible, and then load shopping carts to the brim, and abandon them at checkout.
I would wager that most retail has their busiest times during the weekend. What would happen if swarms of patriots were to start showing up at Walmart, Costco, BB&B, Kohls, etc, at a predetermined time(Friday's, at 5 PM for example) and fill carts with random shit from all over the store, and then plug up the checkouts with it 15-20 minutes later? Before long employees at the stores are going to start looking at every customer that walks in at 5, and wonder if they are part of it, only to stew, and then find out, and then have to spend the rest of the weekend reshelving all the stuff from the carts.
How many weeks before it makes it miserable enough for the employees, that they start quitting to find more honorable work? How much would it cost these spineless weasels to deal with the disruption?
Sorry for the ramble, but I'd be first in line if someone better at organizing than me wanted to take it from here.
