I was doing updates a while back, and I wanted to report in. I want to stress: THIS IS NOT TO DEBATE THE MERITS OF THE VACCINE, JUST SAY WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED. Everyone will have their own reasons to take or not take it, and I support individual freedoms, and anti-vax people can cheer on the fact that this might give some people pause. The original timeline I posted is gone, perhaps from the site move... so some of this will be off of memory. The first vaccine was awful for me, but I'm 99% sure I also happened to be getting sick from something else at the same time. I developed a cough that none of my other co-workers got at the vaccine, but it had been going around prior. I got tested, and I was negative for the virus. I'm going to ignore the bronchitis / cough and stick to the other symptoms 1st shot - I definitely had a super sore arm, way worse than any of the flu shots I've received. It kept me up the second night. I lost my appetite on the 3rd day and I couldn't eat too much. I just felt something "wasn't right". I hit a temp of about 100 for a day. I got general chills, and I felt an odd cool sensation on the vaccination arm. 2nd shot - I had a sore arm again. I didn't get a cough. I didn't sleep well the 2nd night again. I lost my appetite, and this time I got severe nausea. I woke up in the middle of the night, ran to the bathroom, and started puking so hard my abs were cramping. It was kind of hard to breathe I was dry heaving so hard, which lasted about half an hour. I got the same weird chilling feeling on my left arm. It's been about a month and a half, and I still feel an odd chill on my left arm from time to time. I am pretty critical of my own perceptions, and I think it's a little too strong to think it's placebo. It's more noticeable after I have rested on that side for a while, and I release any weight on that arm. I get the chill feeling for an hour or two. That's my lingering effect I'm annoyed with at this point (over a month later). Do with the information as you will, but keep in mind that I have encountered endless people say they only had initial soreness and no residual effects - just like a flu shot. I've encountered actual people in their 40's who got the virus and lost their sense of taste and never got it back even though their mortality risk was low. The whole risk/reward of the vaccine is shitty no matter what from my perspective.
