I can’t reveal my source, but a state that rhymes with zorth marolina will likely have multiple counties make local decisions to go back to school full time tomorrow. The idea would be that the governor would veto a state-wide bill so they will use this as a way to bypass his approval.

I’m a teacher in one of these counties that is likely vote to go back and honestly I’m torn. On the one hand I approve of students returning full time, but I despise being used as a political pawn and guinea pig. I should add that we have been in school since September with half remote, half in-person with the students rotating which days they get to come to school.

Now before y’all jump on me for even hesitating to fuck over our dem governor, hear me out. We currently HAVE to maintain 6 feet between students which is just not possible with our massive class sizes. We currently have to quarantine for 2 weeks if we even come close to being exposed to someone who has tested positive. I have had to quarantine once and my wife has had to twice and there are absolutely 0 substitutes right now since the old retired teachers who are then majority of our subs, do not want to work anymore even when we offered more money. On top of these asinine policies, we have to enforce masks and clean each desk during class changes. I cannot clean 30 desks in 2 minutes while also monitoring a hallway full of middle schoolers. So my main gripe is not that I don’t want all kids to return to school like those liberal teacher unions, but that I ALSO want these impossible stipulations lifted so that we can come back and actually do our jobs.
