I’m having many people ask me about what happened at the rally yesterday since I was there. Let’s skip the fake news and get the real story. Here goes.
BOK is 25k max. I’d say 70% full.
Million requests did not translate into seats. I think some internet nonsense happened. There are reports of this.. Combine that with the event hosting mistakes/confusions and Brad Parscale has some work ahead of him.
Almost zero rioting. A couple wackos spouting nonsense. Bedlam gets rowdier. never felt unsafe in the slightest. Thank you national guard and first responders. They were everywhere!
Changes they should make:
- do not post the sign up numbers. A large proportion of those I talked to almost didn’t come because they didn’t want to stand in 90+ degree sun to not get inside.
- clear the city issues waaaay ahead. My FB feed went nuts with posts of people worried about Tulsa riots and mayor emergency order. Almost NOTHING uncivil happened. Oklahoma should be proud.
- put signs up for where to park and where the OPEN entrances are. it can be a mile to walk to the venue only to have to half a mile walk all the way around to another entrance. families, disabled, and older folks aren’t up for that. Just give those folks a premium entrance with easy parking. I’d gladly give my inside seat up for them and stand outside.
- water bottle stations should be clearly marked and someone with noticeable campaign credentials watching over it. I don’t want to drink from a random sack of water bottles laying on the ground with talk of Antifa running around. But I’m not allowed to bring water in the gated area??? Food trucks need seating and better Central location. Plenty of open and parking lots.
- get some better pre-trump speakers. I’m sure a Michael knowles, Dan bongino, Levin or ingraham would be happy for 20 minutes. The “sleepy joe” and “do nothing dems” stuff is great a few times. After 20+ Times you can tell the energy goes down. Need more of the fundamental conservative message. Only one time did I hear the riots get tied to the second amendment. Diamond and silk were great.
- triple check your analytics. Name, phone number, zip code is waaaaay too easy to bot. I can write that script in 15 minutes.
- maybe keep the POTUS to one hour. Got a bit long and repetitive. Energy in the room totally changes when he walks out. Amazing! But High Energy has about a 45 minute window after a long day.
All around great rally. Let’s make the next one even greater!
Edit: There a picture floating around that Parscale posted to Twitter. I hate to break the bubble but this is fake news spin from Brad as well as CNN.
A couple gates were blocked. There were also open ones. There was NO SIGNAGE for how to get the open ones. Literally had to ask a national guardsman for street directions.
That picture is <20 protesters. There were HUNDREDS of national guard and first responders. Many of whom were sitting in shaded areas waiting for order. You're telling me you can't secure entrance to TWO SMALL GATES??? What is the point of even having them there. That's democrat city council thinking, not MAGA.
