He can't do anymore.
Full Disclosure. Fellow pede here, who is not an American, but works in Federal Government for another country. Here's some observations.
I see conservatives on Twitter, calling for him to put down the mob with federal resources. These institutions are majority liberal/democrat and filled with RINOs. From agents to judges to juries. An agent can take months for a 'through investigation' or if a deadline is imposed, can produce shoddy work using time constraint as an excuse. They can let them get away. The agencies are filled with Bermans (a Trump voting Republican) who think they know best.
Federal agencies are required in this case, because the local one's aren't doing their job. 10 years in prison? Which jury in NY or DC will convict? Rapists and murders are being let out. You think a judge will hand down a prison sentence for looting? How would a local jury react to an out of state prosecutor who believes in two genders trying an infinite gendered person?
Secondly, I'm overworked and underpaid. I've got murders, rapes, drugs, human trafficking, and a number of other crimes to prosecute. Do you want those solved and investigations into China completed or do you want monuments to stay up? I've seen many political turnovers in my life. Trump will come and go. I've got a family to take care off. Kids to feed. A lot of people are in my shoes. Either 4 months from now or 4 years from now, the left will get their revenge.
Congressional hearings over an arrest due to graffiti? Over how I broke some obscure federal law by strong arming an uncooperative local agency? General Mark Milley, the top military officer, apologised for taking part in The Presidents walk to church. I see top Republicans in the Senate stay quiet. You want me, a nobody, to risk it all?
Thirdly, there have been criticisms about Trump and his hiring. This is rightly so. But most of it is out of his control. The rot is too deep for one man or one presidential term to take care of. How many people are qualified to run the FBI? How many would want the job? You see it in the military as well. How many are qualified to run the US Military? Out of those how many would have lied that they will enforce his agenda. But once hired do the exact opposite, knowing they can't be easily rid off? What can you do about someone who says all the right things, does all the right things, gets confirmed by the Senate, and once in the job, does the exact opposite?
Government is incestuous for a reason. There is no true outsider who can come in and run a department. Laws are hidden. Powers kept from your knowledge. Thousand and one ways to trip you up. And once you're in, you're in.
THERE are good people fighting the good fight. Criticism is welcomed. But let's keep things in perspective.
He can't do anymore.
