i was talking with friends about the tiktok band and potential ban of Tencent and they though the move was going too far. I tried to prove China needed to be taken seriously but found my sources and evidence to be lacking. Sure i could mention tiktok harvesting data or professors being arrested, but they didn't get why hat's significant or more important than say race issues or domestic tech companies harvesting data.
