I live in California and its depressing every time I go out for anything. I haven't seen anyone mask-less face outside for months. There are signs everywhere NO MASK NO SERVICE, NO MASK GTFO. There are reminders over the airwaves / PA everywhere that you must obey or be fined / kicked out / banned from the stores.

People driving alone in their car with masks on. People getting haircuts / nails outdoors in the heat, with their face diaper on - sweat dripping. People standing in lines, obediently on top of little circles to get into a store.

Its depressing - I started to look at everyone as NPCS in a video game - robots, decorations that i have to go around to get to my goal. I have noticed I am no longer polite, nor acknowledge anyone. I just run past people, cut them off if i need to.

I no longer greet people because I hate talking with a mask on, nor want to decipher what they are saying from feets away, behind a piece of plexiglass, attempting to talk thru a stupid mask. A smile from a stranger after making eye contact in a distant memory. Its sunny as fuck outside but the feeling is grim.

No human interaction. Today an older lady dropped her keys on the floor and me and other people just walked past her, instead of the picking it up for her - like common courtesy would dictate. What if she goes apeshit because i touched her keys? No longer are people offering to help each other at stores to grab something that is out of reach. Everyone is just walking aimlessly, afraid of interacting with each other. Robots. Literall fucking NPC's.

Is this the future we are headed towards?. In America none the less.
