If we do a shitty job as mods you should absolutely call us out. Pm me everyday telling me I'm doing a shitty job as a mod. It's my responsibility to this community that this community is the best it can be. I may sticky some shitty shit. As will other mods. We may let in too much Q but generally we have maintained our current moderation without wavering for the past year. We intend to be open and free. But users make the site. Not me or any other mod
I'll always be here for anyone who needs anything. You should never trust us and if we do a poor job it is everyone's responsibility to call us out. This isn't my website or doggos' or even any other mod's, this is your, the users, site. I'll just help mod it.
I have been a mod since early 2018 but a member since 2016. I came to the team while we were on reddit. If you look through my history you can see many of my posts here, unfortunately you cannot see my reddit history but I was a mod under the same name there. Nothing physically has changed in the past 4,5 months other than improvement to security and development of the systems. Security is important to all of us. Win and authentication.win doesn't store more than a hashed email (if you inputted it) and a hashed ip. We only store what we are required by law to store. If you look under my name on the mod list you can see I am one of the few that has full permissions. I welcome you to help me gain your trust.
Nothing, he's 100 percent still around and working hard on .win. he was limited with moderation and left the "mod" aspect to focus on control and full development of the entire site. There's no change to anything at all. He's still a huge part of .win and always will be, but his focus is not going to be on comment removal, deportation, or stickies.
I'll let u/shadowman3001 discuss that. A user was able to donate some eth to cover server and operating costs for the next year. It's not my place to really discuss money or that but it's awesome and appreciated. Whoever anonymously did it. If they hadn't we still would be around and still be covering costs ourselves.
I'll always be transparent, but I dont want to be news. Doggos feels the same way, as do the rest of the mods. If we become the news we take away from anything great that you do. That mod that left in January reached out to the news and threw all 75 million trump supporters under the bus. We don't want to be that. Just pedes with free time to moderate a website.
If you're logging in somewhere other than authentication.win something is up and we need to know
