Low physical supply due to demand for physical silver (and gold) and a historic low silver to gold ratio. That's why the buyers premiums are very high ( about 17-20%), where 5-6 was more common. When SHTF without internet and electricity in short supply, silver/gold will be able to barter for goods and food if required. Paper money will loose that ability rather quick.

They know jack shit and could only do that operating from a secure home base (USA) where all the high tech stuff comes from. They never had the will and combat ground troop strength to win. When they started in 2001, they already lost, due to a lack of strategy, resolve, foresight and initial $. Reading their approach, I predicted failure, and I was right. They initially had 2 years to win the hearts of the Afghan people and they failed miserably. That failure doomed the next 18 years. The military was despised by a certain percentage of the population in Vietnam. The impact on morale was devestating. Let's see how a mercenary army does who will be despised by more of 50% of the population....

I don't thank anybody for their service who enlisted into a professional army. Professional armies are mercenary armies who are getting paid good money to privide their service, coupled with retirement and lifelong medical care benefits. No other nation provides this level of benefits. That was perfectly justified as long as there were citizen soldiers ( drafted like in WW 2, Korea and Vietnam), because there is a special duty and welfare relationship between the government and its citizen soldiers. When you join for money, the special relationship between the citizens and the army ends. 6 figure reenlistment bonuses etc. are a bad sign for example.

Scott is right. In addition: Only infantry is able to hold and control areas. Light infantry holds and controls areas constantly on the move, in all terrains and in all weather conditions without fixed bases and with little supply requirements. Aircraft/ drones are useless without secure bases. None of them will be secure. Mechanization requires large and complex supply chains. A 5 million tank can be destroyed with $ 1000 or less in weapons.

They can say whatever they want, but their botched studies were only designed to show you are most likely getting less symptoms if you catch it. No liability, no proper risk mitigation? This could solve the middle eastern problems quicker than they think. Already forgot the swine flu vaccine disaster?
