Sounds more like he got pulled aside for a talk. Then got home to find a huge cut so headed to the hospital to get stiched up. Seems like a lot of people would have seen him fall or after the fall if he was at the club like the article says. Leak was probally from the hospital visit not from where ever that "accident" happened..
