I was in NoVA today, solid blue area, and a good 30% of the people on the street weren't wearing masks ...restaurants were full (well, 50% capacity), and the whole vibe was alive...came back to DC, and it remains the land of double masks and fear.
I've got 2 loved ones trapped in Hogan's nursing homes. Inside visits are now being allowed, as long as we present proof of a negative covid test w/in the previous 72 hours and wear a mask. Visits are limited to 20 minutes, we have to stay 6 feet away, and can't touch the person we're visiting.
My loved ones both have dementia. It takes a visit of at least 3 hours with each one, sitting and holding them and talking to them in order to pull them out of their fog. 20 minutes, "distanced," with a mask is impossible.
They won't even recognize me and will be freaked out.
Besides all that, I live across the border in the Dead Zone of DC. Absolutely impossible to get tested and get results within 72 hours.
Now is the time to start buying real books for your kids. ((They)) control the digital versions and will erase / edit them. Buy printed books ... all the classics that are now being cancelled. And please include history books -- find old/used textbooks from the eras before PC culture and cultural marxism... the ones that teach the truth / facts and fundamental values.

That gives me a bit of hope. And bravo to you for having patience with your husband while he figured this out. My best buddy is total MAGA, but still hasn't woken up fully on the covid crap -- the mask thing in particular. We literally nearly came to blows about it last week, cuz I refuse to wear one and he does, even outside. (Drives me freakin nuts.)
"restorative justice" ... "progressive discipline" ... our children are now in concentration camps.
Not only must we fix the election process, we ABSOLUTELY MUST take back control of the public school system -- or destroy it altogether.
Unless we obtain justice on the 2020 election and secure the voting system, there will be NO NEXT ELECTION. We cannot move on from here until this is resolved. Secession isn't the issue we're facing.
