Thanks! We are giving this format a try where some of these late night threads will be a recap for folks who are out of the loop.
Most of the credit goes to u/danneskjold scraping together threads!
I think there's a bug related to EXIF data stripping (a lot of smartphones don't change the orientation of the photo itself, but instead use EXIF tags, which media.*.win sites strip).
I have reported this bug before but it may have been lost to the sands of time.
u/doggos FYI ^
Ah right, you can always access it via https://patriots.win/moderators
o7 thank you patriot!
Agree with you, pede. FWIW I have been pushing the maintainers of the site to bring back the wiki or provide some other mechanism for providing a list of long-lived, curated content to point people to. The "Reddit" format does not lend itself well to long-lived content, stickies are more of a stopgap solution.
Don't mistake my own thoughts on stickying a long, self-text post with defeatism. If you ask me, though, many people probably do feel defeated and may need to be essentially spoon-fed to get back in the game.
I'm just some guy online, though. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong about that.
So what if it's long? People need to freaking read and understand, not everything will be a meme or a paragraph. What happened to this country is an intricate plot and took years of planning, how the hell are we going to win this if people don't educate themselves?
I don't disagree with you, but we can't force people to read something.
A lot of people are tired. Many people have already watched, read, listened to hours of testimony, called/written their public officials, gone to rallies etc. and not much good came of it.
I'll speak for myself, seeings you tagged me (among others). My feedback:
-
We're not always around (although typically someone is around).
-
The temp mods (myself included) are technically still temp mods. We try not to overstep the boundaries. Long-lived sticky content is typically something coordinated by the permanent mods.
My feedback on the content of the post itself, well, for starters, it's quite long. Secondly, I and probably many others on the site have no idea who Nekroziz is and why their opinion matters.
Now; you say that you think it's important for people put pressure on the AZ legislators to concur with SB1408. I don't disagree with you there, but I don't know whether or not a long-term sticky on this post will lead to much of that.
Do you have a better resource that people can refer to which puts things more concisely?
Most of the time, mods only remove things that specifically violate the rules.
Sometimes comments will be removed to "head off" a conversation that looks like it would lead to low energy forum sliding, but that can be quite subjective from mod to mod.
Folks, I am removing this due to it being right on the line of the "No Doxing" rule.
Please feel free to repost this with some of the PII removed (I would say last name, address and photo of the professor should be blanked out and the name of the student).
OK I think I had an "a-ha" moment from that comment.
I believe there is a bug related to EXIF metadata stripping that happens on the .win media sites where orientation information gets removed.
I have reported it to the site operators.
Cool painting, fren!
That's what Obama phones are for. Your overlords have thought of everything, c'mon man!
