I am fairly well-versed in islamic thought and am familiar with what you laid out. And that certainly is concerning, but applies to the fundamentalists. There is another sect of islam (that I'm drawing a blank on the name of) that is much more liberal and has different interpretations and beliefs than the fundamentalists. Those in this group often times take up western values without an issue. They are no threat to us. But they are still part of Islam. I've noticed that people often times like to forget they exist, or maybe they just don't care.

My entire point is and has been: We cannot be in the frame of mind to condemn an entire group of people based on the actions of a few. That kind of thinking has lead to every mass genocide in history and has no place in US political thought. Condemn those who engaged in the action and speak out against the ideology! But the moment you lump everyone together and call for all of their eradication... all that does is give the Left ammo to say "look! I told you they were a bunch of racists!" or something to that effect. We just have to be precise and careful in our language. Thank you for taking the time to reply and read this. Take care!

I already accept that fully, as I said in one of my other comments. But calling for the eradication of an entire group of many 100s of millions for the actions of some of their leaders is completely unacceptable.

There are plenty of muslims who are not fundamentalists and who fully believe that what the fundamentalist leaders are doing is wrong. That's my only point. We can't go painting everyone with the same brush. That's what the left does - you're white therefore X, you're black therefore Y - so lets not start down that road that only leads to more racism and be precise with our language. We really do not need to give the Left any ammunition.

Fundamentalist Islam is 100% incompatible with western values and the US Constitution. But calling for muslims to be eradicated? That's insanity. That's calling for genocide. How is that acceptable rhetoric?

I completely agree that muslim groups in power in the middle east are evil and doing evil things constantly. But what about all of the citizens who aren't doing that? What about the non-fundamentalist muslims who come here, take up western and US values, and are productive members of society? Are they evil too? Should they be eradicated?
