He's the only politician who sacrificed so much of his new worth to serve the country. Usually, politicians enrich themselves while in office.
TLDR: Minnesota is a battleground state with Trump's populist Republican party.
Mitt Romney lost Minnesota by a huge margin, because Minnesota's Ds are populist Ds, anti-war Ds. They weren't going to vote for Mitt Fucking Willard Romney, they weren't going to vote for the pro-war Bush 2.0 (TM), they weren't going to vote for John McCain.
Remember that both Reagan and Bush 1.0 had more of populist message than your run-of-the-mill today's Republican. The Republican party isn't and shouldn't be an anti-populist party.
When Trump entered the stage, he decided to change the election map. He reclaimed the populist, working class message for the Republican party. He reclaimed the populist, working class voters.
And because of that, Trump could have taken Minnesota in 2016. Unfortunately, he didn't campaign there almost at all. The polls back then had it as a 7-10 point race. Trump lost by merely 1.5 points. But he didn't spend money there. He may have lost (by a thin margin), but his message resonated. Four years later he has proven himself as a pro-working class President. He has proven himself as an anti-war President.
So now Trump is killing it in the Iron Range. Joe Biden is not doing well enough in the Twin Cities to overcome Trump's advantage elsewhere in the state. There just aren't enough votes in that area to overcome Trump's massive advantage elsewhere in Minnesota. Moreover, the voter rolls aren't as dirty as in other states, so less room for Ds to cheat Trump of a win (this is important.)
Remember, there are more working class male voters (Trump's best group) than disgruntled suburban graduate-degree women (Biden's best group.) Even if Trump loses the suburbs, even if he loses some of his 2016 pick-ups, he may still win this election with the likes of Minnesota and New Hampshire. So, remember to vote. Especially if you're in one of those new battleground states. MAGA.
