My brother in law teachers at a software school. It's basically a vetting program by ex-industry insiders. A way to spend a few months proving you have what it takes to work in industry.
He himself went to the same school and got ranked top in his class. The only two females ranked 76 and 77 of 77 that passed.
The two females had dozens of job offers before they'd finished. My brother in law could only manage a gig as a teacher at the same school.
