People between around IQ 85 to 125 are very vulnerable to propaganda. Intelligent enough to be led along with deductive reasoning.
"Bob said he hated the bank! He was seen walking in front of the back right before it was robbed! He was witnessed holding a huge bag and stuffing it into his car! Bob robbed the bank!" (Not mentioned: He was seen on camera taking his laundry to the laundromat across the street from the back)
Ideally the subjective courses are about logic and reasoning. The subject itself being useful from a pure information standpoint and a ground on which to engage in open debate.
The original goal of the liberal arts was to instill in men a gigantic bullshit detector as well as give such persons useful information about a subject matter. That, and to make them into persuasive individuals that could advocate for their reasoned views.
It's not watered down Christianity that's the problem but the social trust paradox.
While simplified I've seen computer simulations of "animals" where they have cooperative behavior and selfish behavior. Cooperative behavior wins out, but only if they tell selfish critters to fuck off.
In other words, selfless ideologies like Christianity work in homogeneous groups like families, clans, and ethnic enclaves. It's a foolish ideology in a diverse environment.
It's why the left uses violence. A lot of people are cowards at heart.
