Perhaps the widespread censorship on social media platforms is what makes social media appear so toxic. However, in a non-censored forum (if one exists, closest would be 4chan), all viewpoints have equal opportunity to present their arguments and all have an equal opportunity to present logical rebuttals. However we don't live in a perfect world.... Even if the website doesn't censor something, bored+angry people will employ strategies (shaming, spamming, insults, logical fallacies, etc) in an attempt to reduce the chances that the average viewer will see or agree with the alleged 'objectionable content'.
If you honestly think Trudeau would ever get ousted for doing something stupid you have far too much optimism in the idiotic Canadian electorate. He got re-elected despite interfering with the legal system and wearing blackface more times than he can remember. Canada is a lost cause.
