I like to tell folks about how the cdc says the average age of covid death is 78, and then I say, "Wanna know what the average lifespan of an American is?" (Hint: it's the same age.) I read that back in June, so they may have skewed the numbers by now. Also just tell people to look up how we seemed to have cured a vast number of other illnesses only to have covid replace them. Third, of course, is the financial incentive.
I believe in the power of prayer and fellowship. That's what it's about. Not feeling alone, and knowing that it's not just you, but many people reaching toward God on your behalf. I have asked for prayer on here and been overwhelmed with the response, even as a small fry. I try to offer prayers when people ask. Even if someone just wants attention, it's a cry for community when maybe they don't feel like they have one in person. I know it's not for everyone, but I would encourage a forgiving heart. Maybe go with it one day. Offer the prayer and see how it feels.
I'm so sorry. I pray God's comfort and light over you. Reach out to friends, and ask them to coffee. If you can open your heart again, so many dogs need a home and will bring some joy and companionship. I went for a hike yesterday with my kids when I was feeling down. The exercise and fresh air helped. In 2018 I lost my grandma and 2 dogs. 2019 I left my home and support system for my husband's career. This year my husband left me. I might be losing both grandpas very soon. Things are rough, and my faith has helped, along with phone conversations with my best friend 2000 miles away. I feel your pain, and I only wish I could offer help. Look for your blessings even if it takes work to find them.
Family and friends (um, only 9 of us I mean)! Big ol' bird and all the sides and desserts for the 9 of us who will be eating outside... in fall... um.. yeah.. and also we will each have our own table so as to be socially dist........ can't continue. Too absurd. Regular Thanksgiving here. Good bread, good meat, good God, let's eat!
Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the perfect and undeserved sacrifice for our sins. His Blood and Suffering satisfied God's wrath. He is a Gift of Grace - all we have to do is repent and accept the gift. Jesus is our freedom from the punishment we deserve.
