From a political science/strategy point of view, the Founders were pretty wise here (not just from a practical and power point of view). By the governors not being involved, it keeps power from being consentrated into 1 hand (like the Progressives did with Senator Replacements :( and from a practical point of view, what if there is no governor (vacancy) or he's off leading the militia somewhere, and unavailable.

Once the governor realizes the governor Constitutionally has no power, this makes most politicians WANT to have more power and do something. Once the Legislatures realize they have ALL the power, they jockey between themselves to control that power as all legislative bodies do.

Once everyone realizes in a few more days, about losing House Seats; then all the Secretary of States and other officials incl if Governor has to sign off on SLATE of Electors; then they realize they'll be crossing the Rubicon for themselves.

This then on Dec 9th means, ohh shit, for State legislators who still have a few days to fix it, and/or judicial case interventions.

Well #2 is done by the Founders as written in the Constitution, it divests as much power as possible; so returning to enforcing it as written and repealing/striking down a bunch of unconstitutional laws would fix that just fine.

3. Eventually, we'll do a redo of States (with their agreement as per required in the US Constitution) but this is a transformative leadership thing so it will have to wait (DJT is a transactional leadership style rather than the transformative style of leadership.) So this solves the Hawaii and other things issues.

4. All good, but some crud added onto the Constitution needs to go; eg Income Tax, etc.

5. Well most of the mess we have today, is bc the 3rd Branch of government has been falling down on the job for at least 87 years (ASHWANDER RULES).

And as to 1. Well when DJT was campaigning at one of his rallies (around the time he had Covid) he said when the croud was chanting 8 more year or 12 more years; DJT laughed and made a joke about <paraphrased>, he's giving it his all, 4 more years is plenty of work.

Understand you just pointed out the fatal flaw in your reasoning of why it is fatal.

So "The WHEN (timeframe)" that States can lawfully appoint Electors is done by congress as per Article 2. But everything besides the WHEN (ie the WHO, What, Where, Why, & How) is up to a States' Legislature.

When it comes to the "non-WHEN" of appointing Electors, it's like this:

• 1 US Constitution (on top, gives power to)

• 2 States' Legislatures. And this is current State Legislatures.

State Laws or State Constitutions or Federal Laws or Case Law (State or Federal) or Past Legislatures, do not go inbetween #1 and #2 when it comes to the (non-WHEN) appointing of Electors.

3 USC 2; 3 USC 5 and many others violate this. State Law or State Constitution, cannot tell the State Legislatures; nor can Federal Law saying to use State law.

3 USC 5 cannot (pre 6 days out, or up to the day of the "when" timeframe set by congress expires), override the current States' Legislatures.

Congress can only set the when(timeframe) that States' Legislatures have the legal power of Electors. Anything outside this in (re to the SLATE) is unconstitutional on its face.
