UK Trivia:

Each Prime Minister of Britain on taking office writes a "Letter of Last Resort" to the UK Submarine Commanders.

The handwritten letters contain instructions for what to do next, if command and control is lost.

  1. Retaliate.
  2. Do not retaliate
  3. Use your own judgement
  4. Place your submarine under the authority of an allied power (could be US or Australia)

If never used, they are destroyed unopened.

The UK Labor party has responded indicating they "can do it in 5."

Grab 5 and check out.

Unless the check computer is programmed around 4 for non-WIC, the minimum wage cashier doesn't want to deal with this crap.

Put 3 at the front of the groceries and 2 at the back.

Next time, get 6.

It's not their leadership, it's the Democratic party platform.

Which is written by the leadership.

Ok, it's the leadership.

In countries where gas is taxed highly, they sell it by the litre (quart) to get the unit price down.

UK and Canada are two that have done it this way for year. When they started with the super high energy prices, the gas pumps couldn't handle that many digits.

Reading the actual action items [after all the whereas] there's little fire and a lot of smoke with one exception below. The first executive order is 'make plans' the second one is training in how to do a Red Flag property courtless-confiscation order.

Exception:

Expect future abuse of the Red Flag Law. If you so much as put a toe into the crosswalk before the sign says you can go or make the wrong post on social media you'll get Red Flag'd. The 1st, 4th and 5th amendment cases will take a few years to get through the court system.

The 2nd amendment case? This is New York State.

Supplies input to the factory come from Canadian domestic production. The Canadian limits farm production, the inputs to these factories. The Canadian taxpayers apparently help pay for the inputs used to make the final product which is exported.

Canada is importing the product the company creates from other countries including the US.

Unknown is if the supplies used for this factory are causing production shortages at another Canadian domestic factory that makes the same product.

Main beef?

Trudeau's administration seems to have screwed up this market sector in Canada the same way as Biden's in the US. Is there is a private reddit for bad government ideas to be shared?

The immunity goes away if they lied.

Makes you think about why Pfizer wanted 75 years to release their data.

Government seems to give these companies enough rope to fine them and take the money. Pfizer was fined billions last year. Intuit's Turbotax division just settled up and is paying a fine. The State AG's that sued are getting millions of dollars for their state. The unwashed masses will probably get $40 per year for maybe 1-3 years. If you buy Turbotax, betcha the price is up $5 next year.

Be aware you don't inadvertently misuse a word: "Ranga" is Australian slang for a person with red hair, derived from orangutan.

Need to look at the calendar for prior decisions - the days between the docketing of the case, any hearing and the expected publication of the opinion.

The leak and the investigation, is going to churn the butter.

Speculation below:

Odds are, nothing strange going on here with regard to timing.

Probably not a supreme leaker here, as the leak is more likely to lead to the other branches of the government attempting to tamper with the judicial branch.

Dude renamed himself "Freedom" when he got his US Citizenship. He's based. China hates him.

From Wikipedia w/sources:

In October 2021, he [Freedom] condemned Xi Jinping, the Chinese paramount leader, as a "brutal dictator" and expressed his support for the Free Tibet movement on Twitter.[104] In retaliation, the Chinese government stopped streaming all Boston Celtics games.[105] Also in October, he led a rally in Washington D.C., urging the U.S. Congress to pass the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, a law that would limit imports from areas where China has oppressed Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and Kyrgyz minorities.[106][107]

Constitutional questions have already been raised. Not sure if these were State or Federal.

Going no where, but some legislator will have good feelies fro a while.

NY State is full of these bills that are submitted and go no where other than a headline for day.

Two different cases.

The Grand Jury couldn't find anything, which given a Grand Jury's reputation for being able to indict a ham sandwich is saying something. The question is: "Was a crime committed and was this person involved in any way" Not anywhere close to reasonable doubt.

The District Atty can keep dragging stuff up to Grand Jury's, but with such a low barrier to a finding, they lose they probably should just quit.

The other case is civil, not criminal and is before Judge Arthur Engoron. NY Attorney General Letitia James' civil investigation into Trump's business, The penalty out of that is more likely to be fines and the documents in question may be 'owned' by the Trump Organizations and not Trump personally.

Basically, if a company does something wrong, the State AG goes after them civilly in hopes of getting a fine or settlement in lieu of a fine. Sometimes the company has it coming, like Facebook. Other times, it's the AG being a headline seeking a-hole.
