As people were saying yesterday, you have to wonder if such errors always get caught. I wonder, also, if some of these errors play a role in the media "calling a state", or even people not paying attention anymore because the race is unwinnable.

I know archive.is saved the tweet discussing this; if I recall correctly, it was an NBC reporter mentioning it before fact checkers got into it.
Yeah, that's what he was implying.
EDIT: Not saying he's correct btw, I just followed that race a little closer on election night, and there was some weird stuff going on (like reporting 100,000 extra votes by mistake).
As they did for so many states yesterday, the media called it before counting even started, so hardly anybody paid attention to that race. Should've been followed as closely as Michigan, given the numbers that were coming out.
