Many prosecutors are essentially lazy “public servants.”
They want every case authorities present to them all boxed up, covered in nice wrapping paper, tied up with a pink bow on rope.
Then the feds like to show up at the microphone, make a bunch of sweeping statements that look good on a campaign spot and accept a guilty plea that pads the conviction rate stats.
This one’s making them actually work, make waves, end the careers of fellow political cronies.
They didn’t sign up for that.
