I hear these stories, and obviously a lot of them are sad, but I look back and wonder if I should have served, even for a short time.

I'd love to hear some stories from people that served on her, or had family that did...

10000% Agree. I'm probably a couple years older than you, and miss the time when the internet had potential, to be something utilitarian. In a lot of ways it did become utilitarian...but also became massively cancerous. Same with smart phones. It's a dopamine drip pretty much, and it has ruined an entire generations ability to think freely, or in more than 10 second bursts.

I'm 40, it's a good age....you learned to live life without all the techno-fuckery. But you can also appreciate the parts of life that it is useful in, without getting carried away.

He has a point. I live in the Boston area and anytime you go out it seems like you hear people talking about this stuff. I have coworkers that text me about covid almost every day. The thing is, after living in the thick of it these past two years you lose sight of just how warped they are. Then I visit rural Maine or something like that, and it's the America I remember. Heading back into the Boston area after that...it's jarring. It's like some form of higher thought-process has been disabled in my neighors. Logical thinking, critical thinking, RATIONAL thought, all of that seems to have been disabled. They focus on Covid more than I focus on almost any other part of my life. It's central to their existence.

Is there a reason to use raised beds? I've always just grown straight in the ground, and don't remember anyone using raised beds until about 15 years ago, now seems like more people use them than not.
