I've said it many times, but January 6th was more of a Kent State situation than anything else.

There are a lot of conservatives that have bought into this Chinaflu stuff. I know plenty personally. They voted Trump, but they wear masks outdoors, and they got the vaccine when their wives made them an appointment.
Like most conservatives they just want to be left alone, so they figure "Hey, I'll just do X and they'll leave me alone again!"
Not realizing that "doing X" is what gets them coming back to make you do Y, and then Z and so on (probably should have started sooner in the alphabet for that)
At first Trump was pushing the idea that China flu isn't even a big deal, which is the most accurate stance, scientifically, imo. But that turned a lot of people off, even Trump voters.
So he switched to "Well, it's a big deal, but we can get over it quickly. It will be done soon (Easter 2020)" Then he tried "Well, we have great American medicines, that were developed under my administration that will get us back to normal!"
It's not easy trying to please everyone, especially when you have an enemy working 24/7 with a nearly unlimited budget trying to divide not just your base, but all Americans.

If we even speak out too boldly a group of 30 or more armed men will show up to your house in armored vehicles in the middle of the night, terrorize your family and hold you without bail while you face years in prison.
If you resist, you die.
There's something to be said for a traditional war, with battlefields, lines, uniformed enemy soldiers versus what we are experiencing today.
