I realized a while back that despite all their handwringing, the Dems don’t actually care as much about winning as we do. If they did, they wouldn’t be so reckless with their party platform, accusations, rhetoric, tactics, and attitudes. Despite their WWII/Cold War LARP, not all that much is really at stake for them, life is pretty swell either way, compared to most of the world. The profile of the Trump base is generally that which has more to lose. Dem histrionics aside, we simply want it more.

The popular vote actually does not decide where electoral votes go - officially and constitutionally, that power lies with the legislature.
