Quick lesson on perspective. Producers use mics. Those are several inches in front of their face. Up to a foot. Perhaps a boom mic up to 2 or so feet.
Biden is about 5 feet away from the camera. His arm, and only his arm clips through two microphones.

If I may offer some ideas.
1: Add more tags to help separate the posts by theme. (Include a "report missing or wrong tag" feature to help with posts that lazy users didn't tag) This should let you search specifically by Tag.
People don't like radical site changes so allow for "Casual mode" (this page as it is now) and a "Patriot Mode" (The site with added bells and whistles.)
The Current Navigator bar at the top under the Banner can be placed on the left-hand side of the screen and replaced with icons. Scrolling over to it will expand the icons so we know what is what.
The place that was formerly those tabs can go to such features as "News" and "Organize Events" "Upcoming in Washinton" And even something that we users can help edit to break-down the pork and poison pills in mass omnibus bills to help ourselves (And elected representatives) Quickly find the issues with legislature they try to rush through.
Allow for people to set their state so they can also get relevant information regarding their states.
I think changes like this would help this site be more proactive and useful in the coming fights. But thats just me.
