The soviet communists were supporting homosexuals in non-communist countries, as well as other groups who could be used to attack the established order. Once a country fell to their subversive tactics, they'd clean house, getting rid of all the 'useful idiots'.
It didn't matter how many times these groups were warned before hand, they refused to believe that they would be the first to go in a socialist utopia.
