I think they are overreacting to "actionable threats" posted by CCP bot farms and leftist infiltrators.
Let them waste taxpayer money and man hours on nothing.
Send letters off to your congress critters asking them why in the ever loving fuck are they spending all that money on nothing.

The most lulzy thing I can think of that can blow the top off this thing is to express your deepest concerns to your congress critters that the capitol police disregarded ALL security protocols. They let those evil trumpers in without searching backpacks and coats for guns and bombs.
Courteously ask the treasonous snakes (I know it's a tough ask, but bare with me here) that you have concerns about the Capitol Police blatantly ignoring security protocols.
Show them the police letting people through the gates, show them police letting people with backpacks, heavy winter coats and flagpoles through the doors without checking for weapons or bombs. Show the police acting in a casual manner towards the people inside initially.
I would think they would have a vested interest in a total breakdown of security. If they weren't involved in orchestrating this, it gives them reason to dig. If they were in on it, it let's them know that WE KNOW.
Mine was easy because he is not calling us terrorists, but I very respectfully voiced my concerns about his colleagues jumping the gun on that rhetoric.
I mentioned that I did not understand why Capitol Police invited people in the building.
I'm prepared to show him videos on this and ask him to inquire why Capitol Police ignored protocol by not screening people before they entered the building if he wants to continue a dialogue with me.

As demonstrated in CHAZ, some clever folks set up free WIFI points around the area and snared quite a few ANTIFA/BLM/JBGC. They created a map of who was communicating with who.
OPSEC dictates probably the best strategy is to leave your phone at home, but nothing is perfect.
I would also take the time to encrypt your phone contents and set up an actual password, not face unlock or fingerprint. If you get picked up by LEO, remember your right to not self incriminate, enumerated in the Fifth Amendment.
Food and water would be essential items to bring with you, bring plenty for yourself and some to share if you want. A small first aid kit wouldn't be a horrible idea either.
Stay together, make plans and backup plans and rally points if you get separated from your group.

EDIT: the comments here have excellent suggestions, I only watched a couple DEFCON videos a few years ago about WIFI activity being intercepted for intelligence gathering purposes. Heed the advice of people more knowledgeable than myself.

I think some states haven't explicitly prohibited ownership of NFA classified firearms and don't really bother to classify them in state law, and instead refer to federal law.
I think there was also a push several years ago for states to provide a defense from prosecution if the firearm was made from materials that have not crossed state lines.
Anyway pedes, what I'm getting at, is should states no longer recognize the authority of the Federal Government because, say, the Federal Government no longer recognizes the US Constitution, it would be nice to know what states that do would not immediately have successful prosecution of a resident in possession of such a weapon.
