So who's the 28 (or 29) turncoats?

Again, the facts of truth may be ugly

So then...

but truth has a beauty to it

Is basically putting lipstick on a pig =P

It's like how the truth will set people free, but that can be a terrible consequence for some as they'd rather be a part of the Matrix than apart from it.

What, we start seeing Lindsay Graham and Mitch McConnel have their votes stolen blue?

Is anyone else looking forward to the discovery phase of the Veritas defamation case?

The fact that we may need revolution (assuming we can pull that off) to fix this country is not a truth that I would consider beautiful.

Just because it's ugly, doesn't' mean we should ignore it.

I imagine many of these Karens are probably the result of the LBGT movement because they have to raise society instead of the kid they couldn't have because who want's to date a land whale lesbian.

C - Neither =P

But I'd probably live through B (assuming I'm being held to a surface that wouldn't harm me that is - I wouldn't want that on concrete especially in the US Southwest).

Which is why the non-smoking stuff is a good case for tyranny of the masses.

That said, some places should remain non-smoking (like an aircraft) because it's such an enclosed space and if a fire gets started aboard the aircraft, that's not going to be good for anybody.

Eh... history has shown that doesn't work when it comes to the environment. I mean, we had rivers on fire because corporations didn't give two shits about what they were dumping into it. Same thing happened with what caused the building codes to be made, as builders would build structures that would fail long after the builder split due to shoddy workmanship.

There needs to be a better balance as some things need to have the regulatory oversight (like anything to do with air and space for example), while other things makes you wonder why it's there in the first place (EPA I'm looking at your gross overreach).

1
Aoikaze2000 1 point ago +1 / -0

Eh... it's also getting into regulations about building code and what not. Some things need to be there to ensure the structure is safe otherwise the owner will take shortcuts and that gets people killed.

That said, there needs to be a bigger discussion on regulation as some of them really shouldn't be there (like the car emissions stuff that's actively bad for the vehicle but must be there or EPA will fine you into the ground).

Thing of it is, though, that scent (whihc is what you're really fighting there) is harder to deal with. Yeah, I get that some might call smoking inside a right, but this is really a bad example to use because most people do not like smoking and don't want to be around it.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's not more they do it because of the nicotine addiction rather than as a sense of entitlement.

2
Aoikaze2000 2 points ago +2 / -0

I mean, I'm fine with the compromise that there's designated smoking areas so people can smoke up if they want too.

That said, given how strong a nicotine addiction can be, I can definitely understand why a smoker would feel persecuted because of all the restrictions on them. While I have enjoyed a good smoke once in a while over the years... I definitely understand that not everyone wants too.

The thing with the smoking bans, however, is that a lot of non-smokers really liked them... probably a good case for "tyranny of the masses". I'm not against smokers, I just really don't want to smell that when I'm in a restaurant.

Same can be said about the really pungent land whales... and perhaps we should start legislating against THEM.

I already knew that.

The only reason I linked it was because that Yahoo article is THE EXACT SAME ARTICLE on the Daily Beast.
