That is not a topic I have not spent any time researching, admittedly.
I have not gathered enough information to be able to claim to have a definite opinion for or against it.
That being said, when I said life is sacred, the context was an innocent life who has had no chance to do harm yet.
Regardless of opinions on the death penalty, it appears moral to me to call a baby an innocent and sacred life.
This comes down to the fundamental principle of whether an unborn baby is considered human life or not.
If the answer is yes, you are not “taking away a right” from someone anymore than restricting murder is taking away someone’s right.
If you don’t believe an unborn baby is a human life, then it’s a brand new argument over when does human life begin, which is the crux of the modern-day argument.
From my perspective, people have it backwards.
They start with their want (to get an abortion), and retroactively look to convince themselves why killing a baby inside the womb is ok.
Just say it’s technically not a life and you’re fine.
If you start from the beginning without any motive (i.e. wanting an abortion), the answer seems pretty clear to me that killing a baby is wrong.
Shit, just look at the aftermath of an unborn baby body that is torn apart by vacuums, left in pieces and fragments.
It’s a bloody business, and it’s chilling when you look at it up close for what it is.
You’re not wrong.
People have to be consistent with their views on abortion.
Is life sacred?
Is killing an unborn baby murder?
If you answered yes to the above questions, you can’t pick and choose who should live based upon medical deficiencies.
It’s really a question of morality, though.
Some people want parents to have the right to abort a baby in order to avoid a lifetime of stress and hardship.
But is killing an unborn baby justifiable in order to achieve that result?
That’s where there’s such a disconnect. It’s either murder or it isn’t. You have to pick a side and stay consistent.
Hard disagree.
One does not have to financially contribute to families with disabled children to assert the moral claim it is wrong to kill a baby because of a defect.
Are Down’s syndrome children an incredible burden on their family? Absolutely.
Is it right to kill the baby before it’s born to avoid that? One is not a “virtue signaler” for saying that it is wrong.
I am not pro abortion, but from firsthand experience, I’ll be honest and admit I could definitely imagine life without a Down’s syndrome child in the immediate family.
It has made my parents become steeped in debt from surgeries and health issues, and they are horrendously stressed. You can see life just isn’t the same. And there really isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel for them.
As for people saying Down’s syndrome children are the happiest and purest people ever, it’s simply not true. They have genuine moments of pure sweetness, but so do regular kids. They also have temper tantrums and are relentless in getting their way—just like any other child. They’re not perfect little angels.
Again, not defending abortion. I’m just saying....it’s not all roses and butterflies.
You don’t have to get heated to speak the truth.
Too often I see people fighting fire with fire. This is ineffective.
It’s up to us to keep cool heads. A calm demeanor is most effective.
You shouldn’t ever apologize for speaking the truth or stating your opinions, but there may be ways you can learn to be more civil.
Take the high road.
Except for the fact that Mike Lindell mentioned even in this video that there's precedent set for postponing the inauguration for 90 days, ala Abraham Lincoln during the civil war.
Hate to say it, but it's also possible (though maybe unprobable) this crazy drama will be dragged out even longer than the 20th.
Was the corona virus his fault? No.
Did he fully disagree with the pork spending bill that congress forced down our throats with a super majority? Yes.
Did he ask for more money for the American people? Yes.
Did he create a historic economy with more jobs and success than ever? Yes.
Get out of here with this bullshit.
I just listened to the full 1-hour version of it.
Trump brought that up multiple times and obliterated them on it. They had no answer for it. He even noted that the other side’s lawyer seemed less sure of everything as the phone call went on.
They had no answer for why they haven’t done signature verification in Fulton county, either.
Hell, they had no answer for virtually ANYTHING.
Agreed.
More and more our society has become accustomed to avoiding the consequences of our actions.
