There are two strains, but no data indicating one is more severe. Difference in S.Korea vs Italy is that Italy has more elderly population, smokes more, and not as many tested as S.Korea so mortality % shoots up. I bet MILLIONS have it in Italy. If that's the case, mortality % will be exceptionally lower.
Should be noted that according to doctor's concerns I have read, the two drugs can interact to produce longer QT interval which can lead to sudden cardiac death.
Seems like we're narrowing in on effective treatment as we learn more about how this virus works. Apparently its avenue of transmission is through the ACE2 Receptor, which is why people with hypertension are being more effected since they are likely on ACE Inhibitors which can actually increase ACR2 receptor count.
Again, not a doctor, but reading literature like crazy.
