Let's try one last time. Things have a nature. Their nature is set by causality and is irrelevant to the wishes of anybody. You may have the yuuugest ego in the Universe, but still your "oughts" means nothing to the nature of things.
Therefore, a sane person does not examine what "ought to be" - determining the "ought" is trivial, doesn't take a genius and is totally subjective.
Instead, the reasonable thing to do is to examine how things "are". Only once you've understood the nature of things that are important in your life, you can be in a position to act intelligently. Otherwise, despite good intentions, it's like trying to sail a boat in the ocean while blindfolded. Not a position you'd want to put yourself in.
"Ought" is subjective. "Ought" can be anything anyone wants, without any regards to reality. Therefore "ought" is as real as Santa Claus.
"Is" speaks not only about the temporal reality of something, but may also refer (as my point is) to the actual nature of said something.
If it's not happening, it ain't true.
