when we early voted yesterday (northeast FL) there were a bunch of Trump signs and a lady in a deck chair flying a banner by the road in front of the polling place. lol no Biden signs at all. Busy polling place. turnout is high I think. Tough to tell who is voting for who though. But I did see a black rifle coffee tee. best part was nobody asked us to put a mask on. sadly the car in front of us did have some bullcrap sticker about don't confuse your racism with patriotism but we already knew there are stupid people everywhere.
I am assuming you mean the IRS should calculate your liability? Impossible. The only minimal control they have is over automatic deductions such as Medicare and SS. On the books earnings tax withheld is based on how you fill out your W-4. There are lots of people who earn outside a paycheck and must report what they earned and be able to back up deductions with proof. Of course all this does call out for a very simple tax code, and most federal agencies should be abolished as unnecessary.
Ha! Back when I was a waitress grossing maybe 11K a year it took them 2 1/2 years but they did track me down for the $400 in allocated tips I did not declare because I didn't understand my W2. Then to top it off they made a mistake in the tax & penalty (they doubled everything). So I had to say yes I how some tax and penalty but you made a mistake. This was in the days before cell phones and internet so it was all done by snail mail and regular phones. What a nightmare. Meanwhile millionaires are not paying anything and their lawyers handle everything for them.
Oh yes, this is all about the firing of moles, agents provocateurs, incompetents, and traitors. Just as he had to do with the VA so they could fire incompetent people. The civil service are notoriously hard to get rid of, as of course the Swamp was designed as such.
I worked with a young man who was recently married and he was contemplating things as perhaps his wife was recently pregnant, and I told him, whatever you do, keep your wife at home if at all possible. her income will only pay for the costs of extra transportation and daycare. and you do not want your kids raised by strangers in daycare. thank goodness he heeded me and he has a nice little Trump supporting Christian family now. he came from guatamala with forged papers but I think he managed to get it all squared away. he was the type we want here and he knew he should have come the right way.
copied from Atlas Obscura: "Unfortunately, the solar farm has been riddled with problems from the get-go. Ivanpah promised to generate one terawatt-hour of energy per year, but that plan immediately fell flat. The plant failed to generate enough power to meet its electricity contract and was faced with shutdown.
While it’s still up and running, the troubles don’t end there. Ivanpah also sucks up scarce water resources for its boilers, and requires more natural gas than was expected in order to power itself up each morning, leading to greenhouse gas emissions that offset much of the benefits of clean solar power. And the biggest problem is the facility is simply not generating enough power to be worth the cost, especially as other alternative energy options like photovoltaic solar come down in price.
On top of all that, the plant has faced criticism for encroaching on local wildlife populations such as the desert tortoise, and killing birds that are burnt by the solar towers’ beams of heat while chasing insects that are attracted to the bright light. (Some environmental studies have discounted this claim, but it certainly didn’t help Ivanpah’s PR.)
Most recently, Ivanpah made headlines again, and unfortunately not the good kind. In May 2016, due to a technical malfunction, the legs of the heliostats failed to track the sun properly resulting in sunlight being cast on the wrong part of the tower, which caused a fire and melted some of the tower’s infrastructure.
The whole mess has been enough to put the nation off concentrated solar power almost completely. Many solar thermal projects have been stalled or cancelled in light of Ivanpah’s rocky start. While concentrated solar plants are still planned for other parts of the world, photovoltaic solar is winning out in the U.S. In the California desert what was once a beacon of hope for the future of energy now looks more like a glittery, glowing warning sign."
just as people do not understand that most of the money thrown at public schools is for administration. I can personally recall there was a secretary type at my son's elementary school that was there just to count students/calculate diversity. That was back in the 90's. Lord only know what do nothing jobs they have created since.
The simple fact that there is a TV show explaining how rather mundane things are made, and that it is shown to be such marvelous magic to the empty-headed populace, sometimes fills me with a great dread for the future. It makes me wonder if perhaps Sherlock Holmes and his Victorian theorizing about ones "brain attic" only being able to hold so much, thus making it imperative one not fill it with nonsense, all the more understandable LOL!
It always bothered me they didn't do the dead pic thing. Remember Saddam's sons? although IMHO they shouldn't have pictured them after the undertaker fixed them up so to speak. Evil dead must be portrayed in all the gruesomeness that befits them. But I think OBL was indeed hiding in plain sight, protected by the Pakis. Not sure if the OP is referring to Extortion 17, but that indeed, along with Benghazi, is a significant crime.
haha I worked in the Blarney Rock Irish bars in Manhattan in the late 70's. Good money to be had but you had to be quite deft playing the game between being pleasant enough to make good tips yet keep off the lewd drunks. I do think there were perhaps more gentlemanly manners then than now though. I got more grief from bad customers in the fancier places I worked.
Federal and state taxes are automatically deducted, per the form you fill out when you are employed. However as it stands now there is a maze of deductions credits exemptions and other assorted gobbledygook. I am employed full time but also have my own "home business" as a graphic designer. So my taxes are more complicated than the average person but far less than someone for instance who has investments or other interests.
