If this had been kicked to the house there would have been a very real possibility that it could have been dragged out and Pelosi could have ended up acting president in some capacity. By Pence doing what he did that outcome was subverted. So Im still up in the air on this one. Perhaps Nancy and Co. expected a different outcome that day and this mad scramble to impeach is their attempt at damage control. I'm trying to conceive of how the fake storming of the capitol would have aided them if Pence refused to accept the illegal electors...
